Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Indonesia is seeking an HSE Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental programs that comply with regulations and company standards.

You will lead audits, training, incident investigations, emergency planning, and risk assessments while collaborating with operations to embed HSE into projects and daily work.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field and 5–8 years of manufacturing/industrial experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing, industrial, or technology environment.
• Demonstrated experience in conducting HSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Extensive experience in Emergency Response Planning, Contractor HSE Management, HSE Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification.
• Experience in Environmental Compliance Management and knowledge of Industrial Hygiene Fundamentals
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular HSE inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work processes to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors on topics such as hazard communication, emergency procedures, confined space entry, and ergonomic safety.
• Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Prepare and submit all required HSE reports to regulatory agencies and internal management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with various departments to integrate HSE considerations into project planning, design, and operations.
• Maintain and update HSE documentation, including policies, procedures, risk assessments, and permits.
• Monitor changes in HSE regulations and industry best practices to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
• Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization through communication, awareness campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives.
