Job summary

PT Zhongtsing New Energy, Morowali, Indonesia, seeks an experienced EHS Manager to oversee safety, health, and environmental operations for our Morowali mining project. You will implement the SMS, ensure SMKP/ISO 45001 compliance, and drive a zero-harm culture across a multinational site.

Responsibilities include audits, risk assessments, emergency drills, incident investigations, and safety training for local Indonesian and Chinese expatriate staff, all under an 8-week on/2-week off rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, mining or related disciplines required.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in open-pit mining or heavy industries.
• At least 3 years in a management role.
• Indonesian mining safety certification preferred; Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia proficiency.

• Develop and execute the Safety Management System (SMS) in line with SMKP Minerba and ISO 45001.
• Manage government safety audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
• Lead daily safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments across sites.
• Direct emergency response teams and conduct drills.
• Lead accident investigations and CAPA tracking.
• Conduct safety training and toolbox talks for multinational workforce.
• Build a proactive safety culture across the site.

Job description

Oversee and manage site Safety, Health, and Environmental (EHS) operations for the Morowali mining project. Ensure compliance with Indonesian mining safety laws (SMKP) and implement zero-harm standards across multi-cultural site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the site Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with SMKP Minerba and ISO 45001
• Manage government safety audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting
• Lead daily safety inspections, hazard identification, and Risk Assessments (JSA/HIRA) across mining and processing sites
• Direct emergency response teams (ERT) and conduct regular emergency drills
• Lead accident investigations, root-cause analysis, and CAPA tracking
• Conduct safety training and toolbox talks for Chinese expatriates and local Indonesian workers
• Build a proactive and unified safety culture across the site

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Mining, or related disciplines
• 5+ years of EHS experience in open-pit mining or heavy industrial projects
• At least 3 years in a management role
• Indonesian Mining Safety certification (POP / POM / POU or certified SMKP Auditor) preferred
• Business proficiency in Mandarin and Bahasa Indonesia required
• Willingness to work on-site in Morowali under an 8-week on / 2-week off rotational schedule
