Job summary

NS BlueScope is seeking an HSE Engineer to guide and govern our HSE System and Government HSE Legislation within the coated business and provide technical and operational HSE support to ensure manufacturing activities are safe, legally compliant, and environmentally responsible.

You will implement OHSE policy, EMS, and regulatory requirements, support site management, generate HSE reports, and drive improvement of risk controls and performance across plants and departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HSE or Engineering major.
• Minimum 5 years of HSE operational and management experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Excellent understanding of HSE Management System (SMK3) and ISO-14001.
• Government or international HSE Certified (AK3U).
• Internal Auditor Certified (ISO 14001 & SMK3).

Responsibilities

• Implement and comply with OHSE Policy, EMS, and Government Regulations.
• Guide & govern implementation of HSE policy, management system, code of practice, audit system.
• Guide & govern Government Regulatory requirements.
• Assist development HSE plan with site management & monitor performance.
• Provide report to HSE Manager, Site Management, Country Management, Regional Office, Head Office, Government.
• Provide HSE data analysis & advice to site committee.
• Assist development HSE improvement at plant & department level.
• Liaise with external organisations on HSE matters.
• Maintain cost effectiveness HSE budget.
• Maintain Risk Control (BSL CoP, Critical Procedures, Eliminate / Reduce High / Critical Risk).
