Job summary

Medco E & P Indonesia is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment & Lifting Specialist to join our team on a Third-Party Contract (TPC) for Sakakemang PSC in South Sumatra. The project targets First Gas/First Production in 2027.

You will lead lifting operations planning, execution, and supervision, ensuring safety, technical excellence, and reliability across greenfield and brownfield assets. Strong credentials and 10+ years in oil & gas are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years in oil & gas, including at least 7 years as a Lifting Specialist/Engineer on gas production facility projects.
• Experience supporting onshore gas pipeline installation and heavy static equipment installation.
• Certified Lifting/Rigging Engineer or Appointed Person from an international organization (e.g., LEEA, LOLER, OPITO).
• Knowledge of ASME B30, ASME B31.8, API RP 2D lifting standards.

Job description

Medco E & P Indonesia is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment & Lifting Specialist to join our team through a Third-Party Contract (TPC). In this role, you will contribute to Sakakemang PSC, an upstream oil and gas project located in South Sumatra and operated by MedcoEnergi. Currently in the development phase, the project is progressing toward First Gas/First Production, with start-up targeted for Q3 2027.

In this role, you will lead the planning, execution, and supervision of heavy lifting operations and heavy equipment activities, ensuring the highest standards of safety, technical excellence, and operational reliability throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and review lifting engineering plans for critical lifting activities, including heavy structures, pipelines, and processing modules.
• Ensure lifting operations comply with company standards, international codes, and project requirements.
• Oversee the integrity, certification, inspection, and maintenance of cranes, lifting equipment, and heavy machinery.
• Serve as the technical authority for complex lifting operations, ensuring safe execution in both greenfield and brownfield environments.
• Drive HSSE excellence by leading risk assessments, enforcing lifting safety requirements, and exercising Stop Work Authority when necessary.
• Monitor contractor performance and verify the competency of lifting supervisors, riggers, and crane operators.
• Promote a strong safety culture through technical audits, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, including at least 7 years as a Lifting Specialist/Engineer on gas production facility projects.
• Proven experience supporting onshore gas pipeline installation and heavy static equipment installation.
• Certified Lifting/Rigging Engineer or Appointed Person from an internationally recognized organization (e.g., LEEA, LOLER, or OPITO). Indonesian Kemnaker/MIGAS certification is an advantage.
• Proficient in lifting design and planning software, with strong knowledge of international lifting standards (e.g., ASME B30, ASME B31.8, API RP 2D).
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
