Job summary

Sungai Watch is seeking a Chief Finance and Administration Officer to lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy across Indonesian and international entities. The role requires strong leadership of accounting, grant management, procurement, and regulatory compliance to support sustainable expansion and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Five+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership.
• Full professional fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Experience in nonprofit, foundation, or donor-funded environments.
• Knowledge of Indonesian accounting, tax, audit, and nonprofit reporting practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting and rolling financial model aligned with organizational strategy.
• Prepare scenario analyses for regional expansion and major projects.
• Develop project and grant budgets with full cost allocation and indirect cost recovery.
• Maintain cash and liquidity forecasts for multiple entities and currencies.
• Oversee monthly close, financial statements, reconciliations and audit readiness.
• Coordinate grants, donor reporting and restricted/unrestricted funds tracking across entities.
• Manage international finance coordination for US 501(c)(3) and future entities.
• Strengthen procurement controls and delegated authority across the organization.
• Guide finance, accounting and purchasing teams with clear objectives and development plans.
