Job summary

amIT Global Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking a Head of Bunker to lead the fuel procurement strategy for the global fleet. This role drives cost-efficient purchasing, manages market volatility, and ensures compliance with international regulations, while coordinating operations, suppliers, and fuel quality for safe vessel performance.

The position requires more than a decade in maritime fuel procurement with leadership experience, strong market insight, and an ability to negotiate favorable terms

Qualifications

• Strong negotiation and communication skills are required for pricing and supplier terms.
• Solid market analysis capabilities with a focus on oil markets and shipping economics.
• Deep understanding of maritime operations and regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement bunker procurement plans for VLSFO, MGO, LNG and alternatives.
• Manage long-term and spot bunker purchases to optimize cost and reliability.
• Monitor oil markets and apply hedging to mitigate price volatility.
• Lead supplier relationships across major global ports and coordinate delivery planning.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 8217, MARPOL Annex VI and evolving environmental rules.
