Job summary

PT Transcoal Minergy, a leading underground coal mining company in Indonesia, invites applications for the Geotechnical Engineer position at our Mantewe, South Kalimantan site. The role focuses on geotechnical mapping, ground monitoring, design verification, and coordination with expatriate engineers to ensure safe, compliant underground operations and ground support.

You will assess rock mass conditions, monitor pillars and development areas, report findings, and contribute to risk management

Qualifications

• Minimum S1 in Mining Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably underground mining.
• Understanding of rock mechanics, RMR/Q-system/GSI, ground control & ground support.
• Familiar with geotechnical mapping & monitoring.
• Good English communication for technical discussions & reporting with expatriates.
• Strong analytical thinking, observation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical mapping, rock mass characterization & ground stability assessment.
• Monitor ground conditions, excavations, pillars, stope and development areas.
• Assess and monitor implementation of ground support.
• Perform geotechnical data analysis and prepare technical reports.
• Support ground control plans, stope/development assessments & geotechnical risk management.
• Coordinate with expatriate engineers for discussions, reviews and problem solving.

Geotechnical Engineer

Fungsi Utama:

Melakukan geotechnical monitoring, field verification & technical assurance terhadap kondisi ground dan implementasi desain/rekomendasi, serta berkolaborasi dengan Expatriate Geotechnical/Mining Engineers dalam technical discussion, engineering review & problem solving.

Tugas & Tanggung Jawab:

• Melakukan geotechnical mapping, rock mass characterization & ground stability assessment.
• Monitoring kondisi ground, excavation, pillar, stope & development area.
• Melakukan assessment dan monitoring implementasi ground support.
• Melakukan geotechnical monitoring, data analysis & technical reporting.
• Mendukung ground control plan, stope/development assessment & geotechnical risk management.
• Melakukan field verification terhadap desain dan rekomendasi dari Expatriate Engineer.
• Mengidentifikasi ground instability, deviation, dan geoteknik risk serta melakukan follow-up.
• Memastikan implementasi desain/rekomendasi geoteknik sesuai dengan kondisi aktual lapangan dan standar teknis.
• Kolaborasi dengan Expatriate Engineer, Underground Operation, Geology, Survey & HSE terkait technical discussion, engineering review, and problem solving.

Kualifikasi:

• Minimal S1 Teknik Pertambangan, Teknik Geologi, Geologi, Geoteknik atau bidang terkait.
• Pengalaman min. 2 tahun di bidang Geotechnical Engineering, diutamakan Underground Mining.
• Memahami Rock Mechanics, RMR/Q-System/GSI, Ground Control & Ground Support.
• Familiar dengan geotechnical mapping & monitoring.
• Good English communication untuk technical discussion & reporting dengan expatriate.
• Strong analytical thinking, observation, problem solving & communication skills.
• Pengalaman bekerja dengan Expatriate Engineer menjadi nilai tambah.
