Job summary

PT Masmindo Dwi Area is seeking a General Manager Mining to provide strategic leadership for all mining operations at the Awak Mas Gold Project in South Sulawesi. You will oversee production, safety, contractor management, planning execution, and continuous improvement to meet targets and regulatory standards.

The role requires 12+ years in mining with 5+ years in senior leadership, and certifications per Indonesian regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years in mining, with at least 5 years in senior management or leadership in open-pit mining.
• Certified POP, POM, or POU per Indonesian mining regulations.
• Strong knowledge of open-pit mining, mine planning, contractor management, and heavy equipment productivity.
• Experience managing production targets, budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understanding of mining regulations, SMKP, environmental compliance, and safety standards.
• Proven leadership, strategic planning, stakeholder management, decision-making and problem-solving.
• Proficient in mining software, reporting systems, and data-driven performance management.
• Ability to lead high-performing teams and drive operational excellence in a complex mining environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all mining operations to achieve production, safety, quality, and cost targets.
• Ensure mining activities follow approved mine plans, strategies, and business objectives.
• Drive productivity, cost optimization, and efficient resource use.
• Oversee contractor performance to meet production, safety, and contractual requirements.
• Monitor budgets and metrics to support informed decisions and continuous improvement.
• Promote safety culture and compliance with HSE, SMKP, and regulations.
• Collaborate with Technical Services, Geology, Processing, Maintenance, and others for integrated execution.
• Develop organizational capability through leadership, coaching, succession, and performance management.
• Support mine expansion projects, readiness initiatives, and adoption of mining technologies and innovation.
• Ensure regulatory reporting, audits, inspections, and governance requirements.

Job description

This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall accountability for mining operations to ensure the achievement of production, safety, cost, and operational performance targets. The General Manager Mining oversees mine production, contractor management, operational planning execution, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and sustainable mining practices.

Some of your duties will include:

Lead and manage all mining operations to achieve production, safety, quality, and cost targets.

Ensure mining activities are executed in accordance with approved mine plans, operational strategies, and business objectives.

Drive operational excellence through productivity improvement, cost optimization, and effective resource utilization.

Manage contractor performance to ensure compliance with production, safety, and contractual requirements.

Monitor operational performance, budgets, and key metrics to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with HSE standards, SMKP requirements, and mining regulations.

Collaborate with Technical Services, Geology, Processing, Maintenance, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated operational execution.

Develop organizational capability through leadership, coaching, succession planning, and performance management.

Support mine expansion projects, operational readiness initiatives, and the implementation of mining technologies and innovation.

Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting, audits, inspections, and corporate governance requirements.

What skills and experience do you need?

Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 12 years of mining industry experience, including at least 5 years in senior management or leadership roles within open-pit mining operations.

Certified POP, POM, or POU in accordance with Indonesian mining regulations.

Strong knowledge of open-pit mining operations, mine planning execution, contractor management, and heavy equipment productivity.

Proven experience in managing production targets, operational budgets, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Sound understanding of mining regulations, SMKP implementation, environmental compliance, and occupational health and safety standards.

Strong leadership, strategic planning, stakeholder management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in mining software, operational reporting systems, and data-driven performance management.

Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and drive operational excellence in a complex mining environment.
