Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Quality Control Inspector in Indonesia to ensure gas turbine components meet corporate and customer standards. The role supports QA/QC policy implementation, product assessments, and vendor evaluations.

It is envisioned for staff that can work autonomously with supervision in non-routine situations. The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Bachelor's in mechanical-related fields, at least 3 years of gas turbine repair inspection experience, and an NDT Level II certification

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in gas turbine component repair inspection.
• Valid NDT PT Level II certification including Red Dye Penetrant and FPI.
• Strong knowledge of gas turbine component repair processes and inspection requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, repair manuals, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of gas turbine components, including visual, dimensional, NDT (PT/FPI), and fixture checks.
• Review inspection results, generate inspection reports, and provide repair recommendations.
• Perform metallographic evaluations, including specimen cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching.
• Ensure inspections and evaluations comply with procedures, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement related to component quality and repair processes.

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that product quality specifications comply with corporate and customer standards.

This role supports the implementation of QA/QC policies and oversees product assessments and vendor evaluations.

This job profile is intended for support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of gas turbine components, including visual inspection, dimensional inspection, NDT (PT/FPI), and fixture checks.
• Review inspection results, generate inspection reports, and provide repair recommendations based on findings.
• Perform metallographic evaluations, including specimen cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching.
• Ensure all inspections and evaluations are conducted in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives related to component quality and repair processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in gas turbine component repair inspection.
• Valid NDT Penetrant Testing (PT) Level II certification, including Red Dye Penetrant and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI).
• Strong knowledge of gas turbine component repair processes and inspection requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, repair manuals, and work instructions.
• Proficiency in using measuring and inspection tools.
• Strong technical reporting and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with metallographic preparation and analysis techniques.
