Job summary

MAS Holdings invites applications for a Laboratory Executive in Semarang, Indonesia. The role focuses on managing lab testing of fabric and garment properties, including physical, chemical and mechanical tests, with emphasis on quality control during bulk production.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, at least 3 years in testing, and English proficiency. ISO 9001:2015 familiarity and Nike accreditation handling are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Engineering (Industrial), or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of working experience in the related field, garment experience is advantageous.
• Required language: English.
• Good understanding of textile properties, testing methods, and quality standards.
• Familiar with stages of garment manufacturing and potential quality issues.
• Willingness to be self-motivated, dynamic and task-driven.
• Understands ISO 9001:2015 and needs training to maintain accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory equipment, consumables and testing procedures for fabric and garment properties.
• Conduct physical, chemical, and mechanical tests (e.g., GSM, shrinkage, colorfastness, flammability, seam strength, abrasion).
• Identify and resolve quality issues during bulk production (color shading, fabric damage, width variations).
• Collaborate with technical officers, production teams and suppliers to address quality issues and ensure standards.
• Maintain records of testing results and supplier performance; track production issues.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on material quality and spec adherence.
• Ensure adherence to relevant standards and certifications (ISO 9001:2015) and participate in accreditation training.
• Ensure health and safety procedures during testing processes.
