Qualifications

• 3+ years in engineering enterprise applications with .NET/.NET Core.

• Strong understanding of LINQ, lazy/eager loading, and change tracking.
• Ability to audit SQL and troubleshoot ORM performance.
• Experience building microservices and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with containerization, logging, and monitoring stacks.

Job description

This is 12-month contract under Merkle Innovation & Automotive Industry (ASAP)We are looking for a FullStack Developer with strong .NET experience to support the development and enhancement of enterprise-scale applications within a complex and high-transaction environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining backend services, APIs, and database solutions while ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.

This role requires strong expertise in .NET/.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, PostgreSQL,and Microservices Architecture. The ideal candidate is highly technical, experienced in troubleshooting performance bottlenecks, and capable of working independently to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions in a fast-paced development environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).

- Familiarity with automated CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

- Exposure to caching and messaging systems (Redis, RabbitMQ, or Apache Kafka).

- Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring stacks (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or Azure Application Insights)

Responsibilities

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and user-facing applications using .NET Core and modern web frameworks.
• Database & Data Layer Optimization: Build and refine data access layers using Entity Framework Core and PostgreSQL. Analyze generated SQL, tune queries, and resolve performance bottlenecks (e.g., N+1 query issues).
• Architecture & Microservices: Implement resilient, distributed microservices architectures using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles, event-driven patterns, and containerized deployments.
• Performance Tuning: Leverage diagnostic tools, analyze execution plans (EXPLAIN / EXPLAIN ANALYZE), and apply optimization techniques to maximize throughput and minimize latency in high-volume environments.
• System Engineering: Ensure application security, maintainability, and resilience by implementing dependency injection, middleware, authentication/authorization, circuit breakers, and distributed tracing.
• Technical Leadership: Work independently to troubleshoot production issues, lead complex engineering tasks, and promote clean code standards across the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Min 3 years of professional experience engineering enterprise applications using .NET / .NET Core.
• Deep proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core, Web API, and object-oriented design principles.
• Practical knowledge of dependency injection, custom middleware, security protocols (authentication/authorization), and API performance tuning.
• Hands-on expertise with Entity Framework Core for designing optimized data access layers.
• Advanced understanding of LINQ, IQueryable, lazy/eager loading strategies, and change tracking mechanics
• Proven ability to audit generated SQL queries and troubleshoot ORM performance degradation.
• Strong command of PostgreSQL development, complex SQL writing, stored procedures, views, and custom indexing strategies.
• In-depth understanding of the PostgreSQL Query Planner, Query Execution Engine, and analyzing EXPLAIN / EXPLAIN ANALYZE output.
• Experience managing transactions, database locking mechanisms, isolation levels, and tuning PostgreSQL workloads generated via EF Core.
• Hands-on experience designing, decomposing, and maintaining microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong grasp of inter-service communication (REST, message brokers), resiliency patterns (retry policies, circuit breakers), and API gateways.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), centralized logging, and monitoring solutions.
