Job summary

Educato Limited is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 child with autism in a mainstream primary school in Bolton. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with a long-term contract and potential extension.

The successful candidate will help the child access the curriculum, maintain clear routines, support emotional regulation, and build independence, working closely with the class teacher and school team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with autism.
• Experience in KS1/classroom environment.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Understanding of routines and structure for autism.
• Ability to support emotional regulation.

Responsibilities

• Providing consistent 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with autism.
• Supporting the child to access the mainstream curriculum.
• Maintaining clear and predictable routines throughout the school day.
• Preparing the child for changes to routines and transitions.
• Supporting emotional regulation when the child becomes dysregulated.
• Helping the child develop independence and confidence.
• Supporting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.
• Building a strong, trusting relationship with the child.
