About the Role
As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will be responsible for managing trade claims and commercial spending across both Sales and Marketing functions. You will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Key Account, and Finance teams to ensure trade investments, promotional spending, rebates, and claims are accurately tracked, validated, and aligned with business objectives. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial control while enabling sustainable business growth.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Commercial Finance, Trade Finance, FP&A, Accounting, or a related role.
- Experience handling trade claims, rebates, customer deductions, promotional spending, or marketing budget management is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis.
- Experience using ERP systems, preferably Odoo, for financial transactions, claim tracking, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and financial reporting processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Marketing, and Finance teams.
- Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, retail, or e-commerce industries is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Review, validate, and process trade claims from customers, distributors, and modern trade partners.
- Ensure all claims, rebates, discounts, and promotional spending are supported by proper documentation and comply with agreed commercial terms.
- Monitor and analyze trade spending, customer investments, and marketing expenditures to ensure budget compliance and financial accuracy.
- Reconcile trade claims against sales performance, promotional activities, customer agreements, and marketing campaigns.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to track the effectiveness and ROI of commercial and promotional investments.
- Support the preparation of accruals, provisions, and month‑end closing activities related to trade and marketing expenses.
- Identify discrepancies in claims, deductions, and spending, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Prepare regular reports and insights on trade spending, marketing investments, customer profitability, and commercial performance.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for Sales and Marketing functions.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, transparency, and control over commercial expenditures.
