About Us

Worley is a global company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value across the life of their assets. We specialize in consulting, engineering, procurement and construction across the project lifecycle, with services extending through to operations and decommissioning. Leveraging extensive experience and AI-enabled delivery, we support customers in navigating complexity as they meet today's needs and transition to more sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities Include
Technical Leadership
  • Lead on the reservoir design basis, sustainable extraction limits, operating envelopes, make-up well requirements and production/injection strategies.
  • Run scenario and sensitivity analyses to forecast pressure, enthalpy and mass output, and quantify uncertainty, depletion, cooling/breakthrough and long-term sustainability risks.
  • Specify and interpret well testing, pressure-transient analysis, production logging and fluid sampling, and design reservoir surveillance and monitoring programmes.
  • Define well targets, wellbore flow performance and deliverability inputs for drilling, steamfield and power-plant design, verifying consistency between reservoir forecasts, gathering systems and plant capacity.
  • Work with geoscience, geochemistry and drilling colleagues to incorporate conceptual model updates into the reservoir model, and advise on reinjection strategy, scaling and chemistry constraints on production.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, calculations, models, reports, design criteria, philosophies and contractor/vendor submissions; support HAZID/HAZOP and technical risk reviews.
Project Delivery
  • Act as the client's reservoir engineering focal point, providing independent technical assurance across FEED, EPC/EPCM, drilling, testing, commissioning and early operations.
  • Review contractor models, assumptions, design deliverables, test programmes, deviations and change requests for technical integrity, compliance and value.
  • Monitor reservoir and well performance against model forecasts and acceptance criteria, updating models as new data becomes available and recommending surveillance, mitigation, optimisation or make-up drilling actions.
  • Support tender development and evaluation, scope definition, schedules, cost and risk reviews, technical due diligence, stage-gate decisions and lender/investor assurance.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and communicate complex subsurface uncertainty clearly to clients, project teams and non-technical stakeholders; mentor junior engineers and promote quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Support project managers with planning, resource forecasting and technical risk management.
  • Contribute to commissioning planning and operational readiness activities where required.
What You'll Have
  • Typically 8+ years of relevant reservoir engineering experience, including substantial geothermal experience and delivery in consulting, operator, EPC/EPCM, PMC or Owner's Engineer environments.
  • Working knowledge of geothermal wells, drilling/completions, geochemistry, scaling/corrosion, steamfield systems and power-plant interfaces across high-, medium- or low-enthalpy developments.
  • Experience producing and assuring FEED/detailed design deliverables and reviewing EPC contractor submissions; familiarity with technical due diligence, project risk and cost/schedule interfaces.
  • Knowledge of applicable geothermal resource classification/reporting frameworks, engineering standards, HSE requirements and quality-management processes; professional registration or chartership is desirable.
  • Strong technical writing, client-facing communication, leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration skills; willingness to travel and undertake field assignments as required.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting bids and business development activities.
  • A willingness to travel, stay away from home and undertake site based work

The successful candidate should demonstrate expertise in several of the following areas:

  • geothermal reservoir simulation,
  • material/energy balance,
  • decline and uncertainty analysis,
  • well-test interpretation,
  • resource assessment and
  • production/injection forecasting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in reservoir, petroleum, chemical or mechanical engineering, geoscience, or a closely related discipline;
  • postgraduate study is desirable.
Personal Attributes
  • Recognised technically with strong engineering judgement.
  • Commercially aware and client focused.
