Job summary

Rafa Karya Indonesia is seeking an experienced Estimator (Construction) to join our South Tangerang team. This full-time, on-site role focuses on analysing project specs, blueprints, and plans to prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets.

You will work with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates are precise, competitive, and aligned with client requirements, with responsibilities spanning tender preparation, cost tracking, and post-project reviews.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.
• Proficiency with cost estimation software and Excel.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams.

About the role

Rafa Karya Indonesia is seeking an experienced Estimator (Construction) to join our dynamic team based in South Tangerang, Banten. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our construction operations. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project specifications, blueprints, and construction plans to prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets. This position is integral to our project planning process, directly impacting project profitability, bid competitiveness, and overall business success. You will work on-site at our South Tangerang office, collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and senior management to ensure all projects are estimated with precision and delivered within budget parameters.

Key responsibilities

Analyse project specifications, architectural drawings, and engineering plans to determine material quantities and labour requirements

Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets based on material prices, labour costs, equipment rental, and subcontractor fees

Research and source current pricing information from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to ensure estimates remain competitive and accurate

Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify project scope and resolve any discrepancies in documentation

Perform quantity take-offs and calculations for various construction materials and components

Prepare tender documents and submit bids to clients within specified deadlines

Monitor and track actual project costs against initial estimates to identify variances and areas for improvement

Maintain detailed records and documentation of all estimates, quotations, and cost analyses

Communicate estimates and budget recommendations to senior management and stakeholders

Assist in post-project analysis to improve future estimating accuracy and processes

What we're looking for

Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar estimating role within the construction industry

Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and technical specifications

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards relevant to building construction

Expertise in cost estimation software and tools; familiarity with industry-standard estimating programmes is essential

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and report preparation

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines

Knowledge of current construction costs, market trends, and pricing strategies in the Indonesian construction market

Formal qualification in Estimating, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred

Professional certification in Construction Estimating or Cost Engineering is advantageous
