Job summary

Syngenta Indonesia is seeking an Environmental and Sustainability Engineer in Gunung Putri, Bogor to lead and support environmental programs and performance initiatives. You will ensure compliance with environmental laws and Syngenta HSE standards, and monitor environmental data including air emissions and wastewater.

You will develop controls, support HSE training, and promote quality and CAN DO behavior across all activities to drive sustainable outcomes for the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Environmental Management or Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in Environmental and Sustainability, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HSE Management System and Indonesian regulations.
• Able to handle hazardous waste management basics and HSE audits.
• Capable of risk assessment, inspections, incident investigations, and internal audits.
• Understanding of environmental performance indicators.
• Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities

• Lead and support Environmental & Sustainability programs, campaigns, projects, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations, Syngenta HSE standards, Code of Practice, ISO 14001:2015, and HSE Management System requirements.
• Monitor, analyze, and follow up on environmental performance data, including air emissions, wastewater, hazardous waste, and environmental monitoring results.
• Develop and review environmental operational controls, risk assessments, Management of Change, audit action plans, and HSE reports.
• Support HSE training and promote HSE, Quality, and CAN DO behaviour across all activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Environmental Management or Engineering (Chemical, Environmental) or Faculty of Public Health (Environmental Management).
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in Environmental and Sustainability field especially from manufacturing such as Waste water treatment plant, PROPER, AMDAL/UKL-UPL, Hazardous waste management, Air emission management.
• Strong knowledge of HSE Management System and Indonesia Environmental law and regulations.
• Able to deliver basic knowledge for Hazardous waste management, and HSE Audit internal.
• Able to undertake risk assessment, workplace inspection, incident investigation and audit internal.
• Good understanding for hazardous waste management, environmental performance indicator.
• Proficient in English.

Desired Qualifications

• Certified General AK3 (Indonesia Safety Expert) optional.
• Certified to Auditor of ISO 14001
