About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English tutor to join our team at BIMBEL ID Batam. This is a full-time position based in Batam, Riau Islands, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality English language instruction to students of various proficiency levels. As an English tutor, you will be instrumental in helping students develop their language skills, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals. This role is essential to our mission of providing exceptional educational support and fostering a love of learning within our community.

Key responsibilities

Deliver engaging and interactive English language lessons to individual and small group students, tailored to their specific needs and proficiency levels

Plan and prepare comprehensive lesson materials, including worksheets, exercises, and assessments that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives

Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, tests, and assignments, tracking their development and providing constructive feedback

Adapt teaching methods and strategies to accommodate different learning styles and ensure optimal student comprehension

Create a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and boosts student confidence

Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress, areas of improvement, and recommendations for further development

Stay current with effective teaching methodologies and incorporate innovative approaches to language instruction

Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and student performance data

Collaborate with other tutors and staff members to share best practices and support overall centre objectives

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field

Proven experience as an English tutor or English language teacher, ideally in a tutoring or educational institution setting

Native or near-native proficiency in English with excellent written and spoken communication skills

Strong knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and language teaching methodologies

Ability to teach students at varying proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and simply

Patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach to working with learners of all ages and backgrounds

Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prepare comprehensive lesson plans and manage multiple students

Passion for education and a genuine desire to help students succeed

Flexibility and adaptability in response to student needs and evolving educational requirements

Preferred: Experience with standardised English language testing (such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge exams)

Preferred: Prior experience tutoring in Indonesia or understanding of the Indonesian education system
