Job summary

Grab is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Fulfilment Engineering team to lead and operate critical fulfilment capabilities. You will empower senior engineers to drive architecture and product-aligned technical decisions, while staying technically fluent and mentoring ICs.

You will report to the Senior Software Engineering Manager as Grab maintains a 5-day in-office arrangement, fostering collaboration and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including production systems at scale.
• 2+ years of experience managing and developing software engineers.
• Hands-on experience building or integrating LLM and generative AI solutions.
• Understanding of AI system risks: privacy, security, reliability, latency, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of software engineers with growth plans.
• Define priorities and roadmaps with Product, Data Science, Analytics and Operations.
• Own planning and delivery of the team’s engineering roadmap.
• Establish sound technical direction and architecture trade-offs.
• Improve reliability, scalability, observability and cost efficiency of systems.
• Establish engineering practices for design reviews, testing, deployment and incident response.
• Create an inclusive environment with psychological safety and ownership.
• Attract and retain strong engineering talent and contribute to hiring.
• Communicate progress, risks and decisions to stakeholders.
