Mandarin Oriental Jakarta is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the hotel’s Engineering team in maintaining and improving the property's technical operations. The role focuses on electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and preventive maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.

You will work under the Chief Engineer, assisting in monitoring systems, maintenance tasks, and documentation while contributing to sustainability initiatives and VIP event setups.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles.
• Good command of English and strong organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control panels.
• Support routine checks and servicing of mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, and HVAC systems.
• Help troubleshoot minor electrical and mechanical issues under supervision.
• Assist in preventive maintenance schedules for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Support daily inspections of equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
• Record and report maintenance needs or irregularities to supervisors.
• Update maintenance logs, checklists, and engineering reports.
• Assist in inventory management of tools, spare parts, and engineering supplies.
• Support scheduling and documentation for engineering trainees.
• Assist in preparing technical setups for VIP events or special functions.
• Support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives within the hotel.
• Perform other tasks as required to support the Engineering department.

About the Job

Based at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta, the Engineering Intern will support the hotel’s Engineering team in maintaining and improving the property’s technical operations. This role focuses on electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and preventive maintenance to ensure the hotel operates safely, efficiently, and in line with Mandarin Oriental’s high standards. The intern reports to the Chief Engineer and works closely with the Engineering team.

As Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Electrical & Mechanical Support

• Assist in monitoring and maintaining electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control panels.
• Support routine checks and servicing of mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, and HVAC systems.
• Help troubleshoot minor electrical and mechanical issues under supervision.
