Responsibilities

• Preventively maintain, renew or expand electrical installations and measurement and control installations (both low, medium and high voltage) following the instruction list to optimize availability and capacity.
• Maintain installations according to the preventive maintenance program.
• Switch on and off power cables.
• Replace or repair parts preventatively or as needed.
• Renew and improve electrical installations, including controls.
• Follow up technical properties of installations.
• Interpret processes, drawings, electrical diagrams, procedures and other related documents.
• Integrate and/or renew switchgear.
• Update electrical files (e.g., manuals, schematics) in the IT system or documentation system.
• Signal malfunctions or opportunities for improvement.
• Repair breakdowns or malfunctions of electrical installations and measurement and control systems.
• Analyze the cause of the problem by measuring electrical voltage/current and insulation value.
• Prepare maintenance work using correct tools, spare parts, drawings, and procedures.
• Perform administration when using warehouse items and assist warehouse attendants to ensure continuity of the warehouse.
• Escalate shortages of stock material to the warehouse operative.
• Correctly resolve problems by replacing or repairing parts and consult with the person in charge or colleagues for irregularities or high‑voltage issues.
• Provide input to improve plant operations to prevent future similar problems and discuss with the person in charge.
• Ensure necessary actions and administration enable safe use of installations.
• Apply Sibelco’s life‑saving rules and the LOTOTO principle: Lock Out, Tag Out, Try Out.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is available and used correctly.
• Carry out and apply procedures such as LMRA, work permits, standard operating procedures, and specific safety instructions.
• Use available tools and associated procedures correctly.
• Communicate with the control room or other departments during work.
• Check values of fuses, cable sections, etc., based on available electrical diagrams.
• Report any safety problems.
• Implement and participate in safety improvements and actions.
• Operate fire alarms.
• Assist operators on problems that shut down production to get production back up and running as quickly as possible.
• Assist external electricians with installation of new machines, perform all connections, adjust machines, and escort external firms around the company premises if necessary.
