Job summary

PT. GLOBAL Hydro Indonesia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide on-site and remote technical support for hydropower-related electrical systems.

The role involves troubleshooting generators, excitation systems, protection devices, and switchgear, as well as testing and commissioning during overhauls and retrofits. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the power plant or hydropower industry.
• Strong knowledge of generators, excitation systems, control panels, protection devices, switchgear, transformers, and auxiliaries.
• Experience reading electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for electrical systems related to water turbines and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in generators, excitation systems, control panels, protection devices, and auxiliaries.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and recommissioning during overhauls, retrofits, and modernization projects.
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
• Support site engineers during installation, inspection, and preventive maintenance to meet safety and technical standards.
• Monitor performance of generator and excitation systems and analyze efficiency and stability.
• Prepare technical service reports detailing findings, actions, and recommendations after site visits.
• Coordinate with engineering teams for design clarifications and system improvements.
• Identify spare parts requirements and evaluate components for maintenance or replacement.
• Ensure all activities comply with company procedures and international best practices.

Job description

Provide on-site and remote technical support for electrical systems related to water turbines and associated equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in generators, excitation systems, control panels, protection devices, and auxiliary systems.

Assist in testing, commissioning, and recommissioning of electrical equipment during overhauls, retrofits, and modernization projects.

Review and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Support site engineers during installation, inspection, and preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with technical standards and safety regulations.

Conduct performance monitoring and analysis of generator and excitation systems, including stability and efficiency assessments.

Prepare technical service reports detailing findings, corrective actions, and recommendations after site visits.

Coordinate with engineering teams for design clarifications, system improvements, and technical upgrades.

Identify requirements for spare parts and provide technical evaluation of components for maintenance or replacement.

Ensure all electrical service activities adhere to company procedures, safety standards, and international best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in the power plant or hydropower industry.

Site experience in power plant projects or service activities is highly preferred.

Strong technical knowledge of generators, excitation systems, control panels, protection devices, switchgear, transformers, and auxiliary systems.

Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, testing. commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems.

Strong industry knowledge in the power plant business.

Good leadership, communication, and customer service skills.

Computer literacy and good organizational skills.
