Job summary

Cargill is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to implement health and safety programs in alignment with corporate and local regulatory requirements. The role focuses on assessing EH&S risks, developing and delivering training, and supporting audits and certification activities.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with the ability to guide teams toward safer practices and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a food

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental health and safety risks, opportunities and impacts, standards and regulations and advise on potential impacts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Implement programs and processes in alignment with government regulations, ISO management systems, and corporate guidelines.
• Deliver EH&S activities, including emergency response plans, incident and accident management, training implementation and evacuation drills.
• Handle EH&S related records and reporting.
• Participate in and support audits and certification programs in compliance with established standards.
• Support basic issues under direct supervision, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Purpose and Impact

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will implement environmental health and safety management programs. In this role, you will follow established corporate and local regulatory requirements to ensure successful implementation of health and safety programs.

Key Accountabilities

• Assess environmental health and safety risks, opportunities and impacts, standards and regulations and advise on potential impacts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Implement programs and processes in alignment with the environmental health and safety regulatory of government, International Standard Organization (ISO) management system and corporate guidelines.
• Deliver environmental health and safety activities, including emergency response plan, incident and accident management, training implementation and evacuation drill.
• Handle environmental health and safety related records and reporting.
• Participate and support regular environmental health and safety audits and certification program in compliance with established standards.
• Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
• Capable to persuade, inspire, and guide teams toward safer practices

Preferred Qualifications

• A technical background or professional experience in the food manufacturing industry is a plus
• Skilled at navigating different organizational levels, building trust, and balancing diverse stakeholder perspectives
• Able to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to integrate safety naturally into daily operations
• Highly adaptable with a strong drive to continuously update knowledge on changing EHS regulations and best practices
