Job summary

ANDALAN EDU AKTIF is seeking a DP Counselor to provide academic guidance, personal support, and university and career counseling to IB students in Jakarta. You will work with students, parents, teachers and leaders to support well-being, progress and future pathways.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Education, experience in student counseling, and strong English communication. You will maintain confidential records and uphold safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Experience in student counseling or university admissions counseling.
• Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme is an advantage.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Empathetic, approachable, responsible, and able to maintain professional confidentiality.
• Good written and spoken English.

• Provide university and career counseling, including admissions, scholarships, and opportunities.
• Support students during university applications, including timelines, personal statements, letters, and documents.
• Communicate with parents regarding academic progress, well-being, and future pathways.
• Maintain counseling records and build relationships with universities and external organizations.
• Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.
• Collaborate with DP Coordinator to guide EE, TOK, and CAS requirements.

Job description

The DP Counselor provides academic guidance, personal support, and university and career counseling to help students navigate the IB Diploma Programme, make informed academic choices, develop personally, and prepare for their future pathways. The role works closely with students, parents, teachers, and school leaders to support student well-being, academic progress, and future aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

Guide students in understanding DP requirements, selecting subjects, and planning appropriate academic pathways.

Provide university and career counseling, including guidance on higher education options, admission requirements, scholarships, and career opportunities.

Support students throughout university applications, including application timelines, personal statements, recommendation letters, and required documentation.

Provide personal, social, and academic support, identify students’ needs or challenges, and coordinate appropriate support with teachers, parents, and school leaders.

Collaborate with the DP Coordinator to guide students in understanding and fulfilling the requirements of the Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).

Communicate with parents regarding students’ academic progress, well-being, and future pathways.

Maintain accurate and confidential counseling records and build relationships with universities and relevant external organizations.

Uphold student safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries.

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.

Relevant experience in student counseling, academic guidance, or university admissions counseling.

Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme is an advantage.
