Job summary

Formulatrix in Indonesia is seeking a Mechanical/Mechatronics Design Engineer to drive concept creation, design, and prototyping of automation systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable components and document findings.

The role requires hands-on CAD/CAM experience, DFMEA/PFMEA, and CNC machining, plus strong problem-solving and English communication skills. You will manage multiple projects and advance manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma/D3/D4 in Mechanical or Mechatronics required.
• At least 1 year experience in design and manufacturing (machining and fabrication).
• Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and design improvement.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis to create new product concepts.

Job description

• Conducting research and analysis to create the concept of new products.
• Designing systems and components that meet the needs and requirements using engineering tools.
• Building prototypes of automation systems and mechanical components, testing them, and improving the design until the product is ready to manufacture.
• Providing good reports and documentation.
• Reviewing and evaluating existing products to suggest ways to improve them.
• Managing team members and working together to accomplish the goal.
• Working and collaborating with other professionals, both inside and outside the engineering sector.
• Planning milestones, project time frame, and goals.
• Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques.
• Monitoring and commissioning engineering system.

Requirements

Educational Qualification:

• Minimum Diploma (D3/D4) in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.

Experience:

• At least 1 year of working experience in design and manufacturing process (machining and fabrication).
• Has experience in mechanical design, automation, special purpose and manufacturing (machining and fabrication).
• Has experience with DFMEA/PFMEA, design improvement, product trials, and root cause analysis.

Technical Skills:

• Strong mechanical knowledge in kinematics, precision & moving assemblies, and small mechanisms/SPM.
• Have the ability of using CAD/CAM (SolidWorks or Onshape is a plus).
• Have the ability to operate a CNC machine.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
