Pure Data Centres is seeking a Security & Safety Coordinator to supervise the guarding team, deliver inductions, and oversee CCTV, access control and PTW compliance on site in Indonesia. You will report to the Security and Safety Manager and support customer interactions and incident responses.

The role requires strong leadership, incident management, and experience in RAMS/PTW processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and safety culture on shift.

Qualifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate held or working towards.
  • SIA License (or local equivalent).
  • First aid at work, fire marshal and conflict resolution training.
  • 2+ years in a security or safety role with supervisory experience.
  • Practical experience with PTW administration and contractor compliance.
  • Working knowledge of ACS, CCTV and PIDS systems.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Deputy applies agreed policies and procedures on shift, supervises the Security and Safety Coordinators and guarding team, delivers inductions and permit checks, provides first response to incidents, and carries out routine assurance of CCTV, access control and PTW workflows, escalating risks and exceptions to the Security and Safety Manager.

Responsibilities

Customer Interaction

Acts as a day-to-day point of contact for security and HSEW matters on site, supporting the Security and Safety Manager and covering in their absence.

  • Support and, when required, host customer walkthroughs and audit activity.
  • Provide clear, timely updates to customer and contractor representatives on site.
  • Process and verify access requests for contractors and customer teams in line with the access control procedure.
  • Collate accurate data and evidence to feed the monthly dashboard and customer reporting.
  • Attend site-level lessons learned reviews and capture actions arising.

Design

Applies agreed standards on site and feeds back practical issues and improvement ideas to the Security and Safety Manager.

  • Carry out first-line review of RAMS and PTWs, referring high-risk or non-standard scopes upwards for approval.
  • Assist with the roll-out and testing of security systems and standards on site.
  • Identify and suggest practical improvements to shift routines and operational workflows.
  • Escalate any deviation from standard promptly and without exception.
  • Attend commissioning and works coordination meetings as directed and report back outcomes.

Oversight

Carries out routine assurance checks and keeps site records complete, accurate and audit-ready.

  • Complete scheduled functional checks of CCTV, ACS and PIDS and log faults for repair.
  • Deliver daily safety walks and toolbox talks to the agreed schedule.
  • Maintain site security and safety documentation, registers and shift logs.
  • Conduct spot checks against the compliance schedule and record the results.
  • Check permit-to-work and RAMS processes are being followed correctly on the ground and challenge non-compliance.

Day to Day

Delivers the daily security and safety routine on site and supervises the coordinator/guarding team on shift.

  • Deliver inductions and training refreshers -Deliver inductions and refreshers using the approved site content, keep attendance records up to date, and flag any gaps or recurring questions to the Security and Safety Manager.

Administer permit-to-work systems -Prepare and check permits daily, verify controls are in place before work starts, monitor live work and permit expiry, and refer high-risk permits to the Security and Safety Manager for authorisation.

Provide first response to incidents and complete reporting records -Take immediate action at security breaches, accidents and near misses, make the area safe, notify the Security and Safety Manager without delay, and complete accurate entries in the incident management system. Support post-incident reviews and progress agreed corrective actions.

  • Support site BCP and emergency response actions -Take part in drills and evacuations, act as a marshal or roll-call point where assigned, check muster points and emergency equipment are ready, and feed observations into the debrief.
  • Maintain site HSE and security equipment readiness -Inspect radios, CCTV, access systems, alarms, extinguishers and first aid kits to the inspection schedule, raise service requests, monitor consumables and spares, and keep the asset register current.
  • Support visits by regulators and emergency services -Meet and escort visiting regulators or emergency services, retrieve the documentation requested, notify the Security and Safety Manager immediately, and record any actions raised for follow-up.
  • Control contractor and visitor activity on site -Verify credentials and inductions, check work against the approved permit, brief and escort visitors, and monitor contractors throughout the task, stopping work where controls are not being followed.
  • Conduct routine site patrols and monitoring -Complete scheduled and ad hoc patrols of all key areas, challenge unsafe behaviours and security vulnerabilities at the point of occurrence, and record findings on the shift report.
  • Produce shift reporting and elevate promptly -Complete concise, accurate shift and daily reports covering incidents, risks and outstanding actions, and elevate anything urgent to the Security and Safety Manager or the on-call escalation route straight away.
  • Engage with staff to promote a positive safety culture -Deliver toolbox talks, encourage open reporting of hazards and near misses, and set the standard personally for safe and secure working practices on shift.
  • Track and follow up on corrective actions -Keep the site action tracker up to date, chase owners for evidence of closure, and report overdue items to the Security and Safety Manager.

Provide a visible supervisory presence on site -Be present and accessible to the coordinator team, contractors and customer staff throughout the shift, supervising the guarding team and stepping up to cover the Security and Safety Manager during absence, leave or out-of-hours events.

Line management responsibilities for this role:

  • Day-to-day supervision of Security and Safety Coordinators and the contract guarding team on shift, with full line management responsibility assumed when deputising for the Security and Safety Manager.

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (R); NEBOSH General Certificate held or working towards (D)

  • First aid at work, fire marshal and conflict resolution training (D)
  • 2+ years in a security or safety role, with supervisory or team leader experience, ideally on a critical or high-risk site (R)
  • Practical experience of PTW administration, delivering toolbox talks and monitoring contractor compliance (R)
  • Working knowledge of electronic security systems and local safety protocols (R)
  • Good working knowledge of HSE practices, RAMS content and site emergency procedures
  • Confident operating and carrying out first-line checks on ACS, CCTV and PIDS
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with accurate record keeping and report writing

Knowledge and Skills

Competent in delivering inductions, controlling site access, supervising a small team and maintaining safety records
