Job summary

sggovterp is seeking a Data Governance Officer to support MAS' enterprise data catalogue and governance initiatives. The role collaborates with business, technology and policy stakeholders to improve data discoverability and accountability across MAS.

You will help implement governance processes, manage metadata, and ensure compliance with data policies. This 1-year contract requires strong analytical and coordination skills for a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in data management or related discipline.
• Experience in data governance or related role.
• Familiarity with data ownership, stewardship, metadata management, data quality.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of MAS’ enterprise data catalogue and governance initiatives.
• Develop and operationalise data governance processes, standards and controls.
• Advise on Whole-of-Government data governance requirements (classification, protection, access, lifecycle).
• Promote adoption of data governance practices including ownership, stewardship, metadata management and data quality.
• Review data-related risks and governance submissions; propose mitigations.
• Develop guidance materials and training to strengthen governance awareness and compliance.
