Job summary

Merdeka Copper Gold in Jakarta seeks a seasoned Geoscience Data Specialist to manage geological databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and governance compliance. You will validate datasets for exploration, resource estimation, and mining operations, and support automation and reporting workflows.

The role requires 5+ years in geological data management, proficiency with acQuire/Geobank/Leapfrog/Micromine, MS SQL Server, and analytics tools like Power BI or Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in geological database management, exploration geology, or mine geology.
• Proficient with geological databases and mining software (acQuire, Geobank, Leapfrog, Micromine) and MS Office.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, data validation, QA/QC, and reporting.
• Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Python) and familiarity with AI/ML for geoscience data management is a plus.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; able to collaborate across functions.
• Willing to travel to site and be based in Jakarta.

• Validate, verify, and maintain geological, drilling, sampling, assay, survey, and QA/QC data to support exploration, resource evaluation, and mining operations.
• Extract, compile, analyze, and prepare geological data for technical reporting, resource estimation, and operational requirements.
• Support the implementation, enhancement, and integration of geological database systems, including automation, reporting, and data management workflows.
• Develop and continuously improve geological database management processes, data validation workflows, and reporting systems in compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support for geological database users across Head Office and Site Operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in geological database management, exploration geology, or mine geology.
• Proficient in geological database and mining software such as acQuire, Geobank, Leapfrog, Micromine or similar platforms, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, database administration, data validation, QA/QC, and reporting. Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Python, or similar) and familiarity with AI/ML applications for geoscience data management will be an advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
• Willing to travel to site and be based in Jakarta.
