Job summary

PT Merdeka Copper Gold in Jakarta is seeking a Databased Senior Geologist to manage and administer geological databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, security, and accessibility for exploration, resource evaluation, and mining operations.

You will validate and maintain geological, drilling, sampling, assay, and QA/QC data, support reporting and resource estimation, and drive the development of database workflows with acQuire, Geobank, Leapfrog, Micromine, SQL Server, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in geological database management, exploration geology, or mine geology.
• Proficient in geological databases and mining software (acQuire, Geobank, Leapfrog, Micromine) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, data validation, QA/QC, and reporting; experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Python) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve geological database management processes, data validation workflows, and reporting systems in compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support for geological database users across Head Office and Site Operations.

• Extract, compile, analyze, and prepare geological data for technical reporting, resource estimation, and operational requirements.
• Support the implementation, enhancement, and integration of geological database systems, including automation, reporting, and data management workflows.
• Develop and continuously improve geological database management processes, data validation workflows, and reporting systems in compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and support for geological database users across Head Office and Site Operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in geological database management, exploration geology, or mine geology.
• Proficient in geological database and mining software such as acQuire, Geobank, Leapfrog, Micromine or similar platforms, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, database administration, data validation, QA/QC, and reporting. Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Python, or similar) and familiarity with AI/ML applications for geoscience data management will be an advantage.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
• Willing to travel to site and be based in Jakarta.
