Job summary

Multinational Data & Technology Company is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform core operations and deployment tasks across maintenance, projects, networking, and security with guidance. You will troubleshoot daily issues following established protocols and expand knowledge of data center operations, processes, and security.

Key responsibilities include maintaining security of data, diagnosing and repairing equipment, and collaborating with engineers to address problems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support tracking and analysis of operational trends and workflow performance under guidance.

• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot straightforward problems.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life through part replacement in a team setting.
• Collaborate with software/hardware engineers to identify issues.
• Execute intermediate operational procedures as part of daily tasks with security guidance.
• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects including ML platforms and network architecture.
• Contribute to defined compliance programs for environmental and safety incident handling.

Role Overview

As a Data Center Technician, you will perform core data center operations and deployment tasks across one or more functions, such as maintenance, projects, networking, and media security, with regular guidance.

You will troubleshoot and identify problems to address day-to-day operational issues by following established protocols and well-defined procedures, escalating non-standard challenges when required. Alongside solid component awareness, you will develop knowledge of data center operations, processes, and procedures, as well as the ability to monitor potential data security issues.

Key Responsibilities

Support tracking and analysis of operational trends and workflow performance, and identify opportunities to improve operational procedures with direct guidance, such as managing utilization and eliminating non-productive activities.

Maintain the security and integrity of data and track various forms of media to identify standard data security issues, such as data that has not been properly erased, in accordance with security standards.

Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, infrastructure, automation, and robotics based on identified issues and defined solutions, with limited guidance.

Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot and diagnose straightforward issues with equipment or infrastructure, and apply the necessary resources to resolve identified issues.

Disassemble specific equipment that has reached end-of-life through part replacement or maintenance in a team environment.

Communicate with software and hardware engineers to help identify and investigate problems.

Execute intermediate operational procedures as part of daily activities and follow applicable security policies and processes with guidance.

Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across projects or tasks, including Machine Learning platforms and network architecture.

Contribute to the implementation of clearly defined compliance programs and initiatives within the team to help ensure environmental and safety incidents are properly investigated, resolved, and reported.
