Job summary

Wego is building and operating ingestion systems and runtime infrastructure to support analytics, data science and AI tooling across Flights and Hotels products. You will own pipelines from source systems through deployment and operation.

You’ll collaborate with analysts, data scientists and engineers to identify bottlenecks, implement practical solutions, and connect AI tools to data with clear access boundaries and ownership.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering.
• Experience owning ingestion systems in production, including failures and recovery.
• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes workloads and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with DevOps practices, automated deployments and infrastructure as code.
• Fluency in Python and SQL, with practical Linux, networking and container skills.
• Experience with APIs, databases and event systems, including batch or streaming ingestion.
• Understanding of delivery guarantees and schema compatibility, and their downstream effects.
• Experience with Terraform and container tooling like Docker and Helm.
• Ability to build AI assistants and agents and evaluate them with tests.

Responsibilities

• Build reliable batch and streaming pipelines from APIs, databases and event sources.
• Operate pipelines and services on Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
• Develop AI tool integrations, agent loops, and robust data access controls.
• Improve reliability and manage cloud costs against service goals.
• Identify data loss sources, fix issues end to end, and improve delivery.
• Define metrics, logs and alerts; diagnose incidents and monitor systems.
