Job summary

Mekari, Indonesia's leading SaaS innovator, is seeking a Corporate Development Associate to identify, evaluate, and execute M&A and strategic investments across the SEA region. You will work with cross-functional teams, model financials, and lead due diligence and integration efforts to accelerate growth.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in investment banking, M&A advisory, or private equity with strong analytical and presentation skills, and a track record in deal execution within SEA markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business; MBA or CFA/CA a plus.
  • 3–5 years in investment banking, M&A advisory, private equity, or corporate development.
  • Strong analytical skills with financial modeling, valuations, and market analysis.
  • Experience in deal structuring, due diligence, and transaction execution.
  • Familiarity with SEA markets and ability to assess opportunities regionally.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to identify acquisition targets and partnerships in Indonesia and the SEA region.
  • Manage the deal lifecycle from sourcing to due diligence and execution.
  • Work with senior management to define and execute the corporate development strategy.
  • Develop financial models, business cases, and valuations to support decision-making on M&A and investments.
  • Perform due diligence, risk assessment, and integration planning for potential deals.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of M&A targets leveraging industry contacts and databases.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for executive leadership on M&A opportunities with financial projections and market positioning.
  • Lead post-merger integration efforts to ensure seamless operational transition and synergy realization.

Job Description

Mekari is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Development Associate to join our growing team. This role will be pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and executing M&A and strategic investment opportunities to accelerate our growth. As a Corporate Development Associate, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, engage with prospective companies across the SEA region, and support Mekari's strategic objectives in a highly dynamic and competitive market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets and partnership opportunities within Indonesia and the broader SEA region.
  • Manage the deal lifecycle, from sourcing to due diligence and transaction execution.
  • Work closely with senior management to define and execute the corporate development strategy.
  • Develop financial models, business cases, and valuation analysis to support decision-making on M&A and investment activities.
  • Perform comprehensive due diligence, risk assessment, and integration planning for potential deals.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of M&A targets, leveraging industry contacts and databases.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for executive leadership on M&A opportunities, including financial projections, strategic rationale, and market positioning.
  • Lead and drive post-merger integration (PMI) efforts for acquired entities, ensuring seamless operational transition, synergy realization, and alignment with company standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications (CFA, CA) are a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in investment banking, M&A advisory, private equity, venture capital, or a similar corporate development role.
  • Strong analytical skills, including expertise in financial modeling, valuations, and market analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in deal structuring, due diligence, and transaction execution.
  • Familiarity with SEA markets and ability to assess market opportunities across the region.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and interact with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the software or Accounting/HR industry.
  • Established network with industry contacts within SEA or Indonesia.
  • Experience with post-merger integration and project management.
