Job summary

PT Bajra Mandalasakti is looking for a Control System Engineer to design, implement and maintain complex control systems for client operations. The role is based at the Jakarta head office with travel to project sites as needed.

You will develop PLCs, HMIs and SCADA, configure hardware/software, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with electrical and instrument engineers to deliver integrated systems. Strong communication and team skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in control system design, programming, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and industrial network protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and Rockwell FactoryTalk is an advantage.

Responsibilities

About the role

As a Control System Engineer at PT Bajra Mandalasakti, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining complex control systems that are critical to our clients existing and new operations. This full-time position is based in our Jakarta head office however will require travel to project sites from time to time.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and programming control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
• Configuring and testing control system hardware and software to ensure optimal performance
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues with control systems, including identifying and addressing any malfunctions or errors
• Collaborating with Electrical and Instrument design discipline engineers to ensure an integrated design.
• Documenting control system designs, configurations, and maintenance procedures
• Providing training and support to users of the control systems
• Staying up-to-date with the latest control system technologies and industry best practices

What we're looking for

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in control system design, programming, and maintenance
• Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA system development, and industrial network protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP). Previous experience with AllenBradley ControlLogix and Rockwell Automation Factory Talk Software will be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards related to control systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Prepared to work at remote project site locations from time to time.
