Job summary
dss+ is seeking a Consultant – Process Safety Management (PSM) to help clients strengthen process safety and manage operational risk across oil, gas, chemicals and fertilisers in Indonesia.
You will work with senior colleagues on risk assessments, HAZOP/HAZID studies, governance improvements, and safety culture initiatives, delivering practical, measurable outcomes.
This role offers international exposure, structured learning, and travel across Indonesia and the region.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from a reputable university.
- Masters degree preferred for advanced roles.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to operational risk management and process safety projects across industries including oil, gas, chemicals, and fertilisers.
- Support client assessments, workshops, analyses, and improvement initiatives.
- Work directly with client teams to help implement practical and sustainable solutions.
- Evaluate risk management frameworks, process safety management systems, and operational controls.
- Support major hazard risk studies, gap assessments, audits, and performance improvement programmes.
- Analyse operational data and identify opportunities to strengthen safety and operational performance.
- Develop high-quality client deliverables, reports, and presentations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable outcomes for clients.
- Build expertise across operational risk management, process safety, and consulting methodologies.

We are looking for professionals who bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field from a reputable University. Masters’ Degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ of strong hands‑on plant experience in Operational Risk Management, Process Safety, Process Safety Management (PSM), Process Engineering, Operations or Major Accident Hazard Management within the oil & gas, chemicals, fertilizer or petrochemicals industry.
- Strong operation and maintenance background.
- Experience working in upstream, midstream, downstream, LNG, fertilizer, petrochemical, or refinery operations.
- Solid understanding of operational risk assessment methodologies and risk management systems eg. HAZOP, HAZID
- Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks related to process safety and operational risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Internationally recognised HSE certification desirable (eg. NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP etc)
- Fluency in English and Bahasa is essential for this role
- Willingness to travel within Indonesia and across the region as required.
- Previous management consulting experience.
- Experience supporting transformation, operational improvement, or safety performance programmes.
- Exposure to client-facing project work and workshop facilitation.
- International project experience.
