Job summary

PT. Mitra Karya Sarana (MKS) in Batam is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our EPC-focused team. You will develop CAM-based CNC programs for Turning, Mill-Turn (Y-Axis), and High-Speed Milling, reading complex drawings and GD&T requirements.

You will optimize tooling, speeds, and strategies to minimize cycles while ensuring precision. The role requires 2+ years of hands-on CNC programming experience, proficiency with CAM tools (Mastercam/SolidCAM/NX/Esprit), and fluent English.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a CNC Programmer for EPC projects.
• Experience operating CNC machines with Y-Axis capability (Mill-Turn).
• Strong CNC programming skills (G-Code & M-Code) for milling and turning.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software: Mastercam, SolidCAM, NX, or Esprit.
• Ability to read drawings with GD&T and tight tolerances.
• Knowledge of tooling selection, feeds/speeds, and process optimization.
• Fluent in English; capable of independent or collaborative work.

Responsibilities

• Develop zero-error CNC programs using CAM software for Turning, Mill-Turn (Y-Axis), and High-Speed Milling.
• Define optimal cutting tools, feeds & speeds, and machining strategies to minimize cycle time.
• Prepare detailed setup sheets for operators and resolve technical issues at the machine.
• Ensure output meets GD&T and high-precision standards (Makino/Mazak level).
• Optimize machining processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot CNC programs and machining issues to reduce defects and downtime.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations; support maintenance when needed.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to CNC programmers and operators.

Job description

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a CNC Programmer (Preferably experienced in operating CNC machines with Y-Axis capability (Mill-Turn)) for EPC Company.
• Must Familiar & Able to Operate + Programming the following CNC machines:
• CNC Mill-Turn/Lathe = Doosan Puma 2600LY (Y-Axis)
• CNC Turning = Goodway GS-4300L
• CNC Milling = Makino V33 (High Speed) & Mazak FJV35/80 (Double Column)
• Strong proficiency in CNC programming (G-Code & M-Code) for milling and turning operations.
• Experienced in using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam / SolidCAM / NX / Esprit).
• Excellent ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensional tolerances.
• Solid knowledge of machine setup, tooling selection, cutting parameters, and process optimization.
• Able to work independently or in a team, meet production targets, and mentor junior staff.
• Good communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Candidates based in Batam or the Riau Islands are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop zero-error CNC programs using CAM software for Turning, Mill-Turn (Y-Axis), and High-Speed Milling processes.
• Define optimal cutting tools, feeds & speeds, and machining strategies to minimize cycle time for hard and standard materials.
• Prepare detailed setup sheets for operators and resolve technical or dimensional issues at the machine.
• Ensure machining output meets GD&T requirements and high-precision standards (Makino/Mazak level).
• Optimize machining processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot CNC program and machining issues to reduce defects and downtime.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and 5S practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Facility (Maintenance) teams to support smooth operations and machine repairs when required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to CNC programmers and operators
