Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Cluster Safety & Risk Manager for Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn Resort Bintan Lagoi Beach. You will lead day-to-day security operations, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to safety procedures across the cluster.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years in security/safety or related military/law enforcement experience, including supervisory duties. Local language skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of security and safety experience and/or military/law enforcement experience, including supervisory experience.
• Experience in leadership training and developing senior security personnel.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills across departments.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day activities for the security team, plan and assign work, and set performance goals.
• Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to improve team performance.
• Perform leadership training for all senior security personnel.
• Ensure all security staff and hotel staff adhere to P&P and security procedures.
• Maintain good communication and relationships across hotel departments.
• Direct and coordinate security activities and implement safety procedures.
• Plan, deliver, and facilitate regular staff awareness training.

Your Day to Day for both hotels will include:-

• Direct day-to-day activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance, and recognise good performance.
• Perform leadership training for all senior security personnel
• Ensure the all security personnel as well as hotel’s staff are adhering to P&P and security procedures
• Maintain good communication and work relationships in all areas of the hotel
• Direct and coordinate the activities of all security personnel, engage in the implementation of safety and security procedures for the department, and provide assistance and advice to other departments in relation to security
• Training and development of supervisors and associates within the department towards the promise of “Room to Grow”.
• Plan, deliver and facilitate regular staff awareness training

What we need from you:

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5years of security and safety experience and/or military/law enforcement experience, including supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Type and level of experience required may vary slightly based on size and complexity of operation.
• Must speak local language(s).
• Other languages preferred.
