Job summary

Job description

The Climate Advisory Team at Think Policy works across the full policy-making cycle of climate action, spanning the planning, implementation, and monitoring stages. Our work ranges from the formulation of climate policy, to the implementation of programs aimed at reducing emissions, and to the strengthening of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting (MER) systems that track progress on emission reductions. In carrying out this work, the team operates in a highly interdisciplinary manner, with current project areas that include NDC governance, climate finance, and carbon pricing.

Climate Advisory Lead and Head of Advisory

Support the implementation of advisory and research projects through desktop research, synthesizing findings, and developing project materials related to climate change, energy transition, and carbon trading issues.

Assist in drafting policy briefs, presentations, internal notes, and other project deliverables.

Collaborate with internal teams (research, engagement, communications) to ensure project alignment and quality.

Participate in team discussions and contribute to shaping project direction with solution-oriented inputs.

Support project implementation, delivery of outputs, and maintain well-organized project documentation.

Support stakeholder engagement processes, including meeting preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up actions.

Mentor and guide junior team members working on climate-related projects.

Contribute to proposal development, partnership building, and organizational learning related to climate policy and environmental governance.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences, economics, public policy, or a related discipline (a Master’s degree is an advantage).

At least 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in policy research and analysis, quantitative analysis, consulting, think tanks, or program support related to climate change, the environment, energy, or sustainable development.

Knowledge or expertise in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset:

Climate finance and investment

Energy transition

Political governance

Strong interest in climate change-related issues and public policy problem-solving.

Ability to analyze information efficiently and communicate findings clearly in written and visual formats.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate across different functions.

Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to foster collaboration with other programs, international offices, and external partners.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
