The role oversees blood typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and component preparation, while coordinating shift personnel and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Biological Sciences.
MLS/MT or SBB certification via ASCP or equivalent.
Min. 2 years in high-complexity blood bank testing with leadership or charge/shift experience.
Strong assessment and critical thinking.
Ability to prioritize and manage workload.

Responsibilities

Directs daily workflow, assigns tasks, and prioritizes specimen testing to maintain fast turnaround times.
Performs and oversees blood typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and component preparation.
Coordinates shift personnel, mentors junior technicians, and verifies technical competencies.
