Job summary

Shinkai Pool 'n Cafe is seeking a passionate Barista for our North Bekasi, West Java location. This full-time role focuses on crafting espresso drinks, delivering top-notch service, and maintaining a clean, efficient workstation in a vibrant café-pool setting.

The ideal candidate has proven Barista experience, deep coffee knowledge, and the ability to work well under pressure. International certification is a plus, and weekend/evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar café or beverage service role.
• Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, espresso techniques and speciality drink preparation.
• Proficiency in operating commercial espresso machines and café equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with guests.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of drink quality and presentation.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as steaming milk and pulling shots.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules, including potential weekend and evening shifts.
• A passion for coffee and genuine enthusiasm for creating exceptional beverage experiences.
• Preferred: International barista certification or recognised training qualifications

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving a wide variety of espresso-based drinks, speciality coffees, and other beverages to the highest standard of quality and presentation.
• Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment to ensure optimal performance and consistency.
• Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently whilst providing knowledgeable recommendations based on customer preferences.
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and organised working environment throughout the café service area, including equipment and workstations.
• Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner to build loyalty and enhance the overall café experience.
• Monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups and other ingredients, and communicating replenishment needs to management.
• Adhering to food safety and health regulations to ensure all beverages are prepared safely and hygienically.
• Contributing to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and collaborating during busy service periods.
