Job summary

ByteDance’s Global Payment team develops payment solutions across platforms like TikTok, including acquisitions, disbursements, FX, and reconciliations. The Payment Network PI team focuses on binding payment instruments and lifecycle management with robust systems and safeguards.

We seek engineers who can design and implement high-quality backend services, collaborate with vendors, and contribute to monitoring, releases, and documentation while maintaining strong security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Java/Go/C++/C#/Python).
• Excellent proficiency in backend server development and understanding of relational databases.
• Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment, strong analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality products to enrich user experience and support business requirements.
• Actively participate in software development life cycle.
• Write robust technical design and architecture.
• Identify, prioritise and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.
• Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code.
• Perform peer review, code debugging, validation, and verification testing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve our products.
• Build monitoring and alerting systems to support online troubleshooting.
• Participate in joint release process to ensure product delivery is as expected without issues.
• Create and update documentation during each of the development phases.
