Job summary

Shopee is hiring a backend engineer for Sea Labs Indonesia to help build enterprise-grade services and APIs. You will develop, test, and maintain backend components, collaborating with product managers, frontend engineers, and QA across the full development lifecycle.

The role emphasizes clean code, RESTful design, and applying AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation workflows in a fast-growing e-commerce environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of backend development experience with Java, Go, or Python.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOP and REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and basic CI/CD concepts.
• Familiarity with Git and AI literacy to apply AI/LLM concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services for enterprise‑grade products.
• Write clean, readable, and well‑tested code following team conventions.
• Collaborate with PMs, frontend engineers, and QA across the full development lifecycle.
• Participate in design discussions and code reviews, incorporating feedback.
• Apply AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and testing.
• Contribute to AI/LLM integration efforts in backend services where applicable.
