Qualifications

• 3+ years in automation engineering or related technical role.
• Hands-on GitLab experience with repositories, merge requests, pipelines and basic troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Agile practices, sprint planning and stand-ups.
• Experience following an incident management process including war-room participation.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM platforms (Claude, ChatGPT or similar).
• Experience with Atlassian Forge, Slack-Bolt, workflows and chatbot integration frameworks.
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Datadog).
• Expert in pattern recognition and root cause analysis.
• Scripting experience in Python.
• Fluency with Jira, Confluence and Slack in daily work.
• Experience deploying and operating chatbots, automation, or integration apps in production.
• Understanding of SLA management and breach analysis.
• Exposure to Dynamics 365 or similar ticketing systems is beneficial.
• Experience building automation on workflow platforms such as n8n, Workato or serverless integration frameworks is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation for internal workflows using AI/LLM platforms, chatbot tools, and integration frameworks.
• Ensure automation is secure, scalable, reliable and aligned with engineering and compliance standards.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and manage automation code, repositories, merge requests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Improve existing automation by refactoring and hardening solutions over time.
• Investigate incidents affecting automations and participate in war-room calls as needed.
• Communicate incident status and recovery progress clearly to stakeholders and coordinate across teams.
• Use observability tools to monitor automation health, investigate failures, and identify root causes.
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation for support and incident handling.
• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual effort to strengthen reliability.
