Qualifications

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Proficient with Coretax, Accurate, Xero, Journal and Excel.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a tax advisory or consulting role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with practical advisory ability.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance; CPA/CA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax research and analysis to identify planning opportunities and ensure compliance.
• Prepare tax returns and related correspondence for individuals and corporate clients.
• Stay updated on tax legislation to provide current advice.
• Conduct comprehensive financial audits for various clients following auditing standards.
• Work independently and support team members, updating the Manager on progress.
• Prepare for and participate in client meetings.
• Pursue professional development and contribute to firm growth.

About the role

Kantor Akuntan Publik Charles & Nurlena is seeking Audit and Tax staffs to join our team in Batam, Riau Islands. You will play a vital role in providing strategic auditing, accounting and tax advisory services to our diverse client base across various industries. This is a full-time position that offers opportunities for professional growth and development within a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

What we're looking for

• In-depth knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles and tax laws
• Fluent in English is mandatory both verbal and written.
• Proficient in the use of tax-related software (Coretax) and technology tools, and accounting software (Accurate, Xero, Journal) and Excel
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a tax advisory or consulting role, preferably in a reputable public accounting firm or a comparable organization
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to provide practical and strategic accounting and tax advice
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA) preferred

What you'll be doing

• Conducting comprehensive tax research and analysis to identify tax planning opportunities and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations (tax position)
• Preparing tax returns, tax correspondence with tax office, and other related documents for individual and corporate clients (tax position)
• Staying up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and regulations to provide clients with the most current and relevant advice (tax position)
• Conduct comprehensive financial audits for a range of clients based on auditing standards, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Further, you may also assist in the preparation of financial reports (audit position)
• Perform work independently and effectively, providing support for team members, maintaining communications and regularly and proactively updating the Manager on progress.
• Preparing for meetings with clients and participate in these meetings.
