Job summary

McDermott International in Indonesia is seeking an Associate Structural Drafter. This entry-level role works under close supervision to produce design, fabrication, and installation drawings up to AFC level, following SOPs and quality guidelines.

You will use AutoCAD, TEKLA, Revit, Navisworks and related tools to create detailed drawings, part drawings, assembly drawings, and MTO take-offs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with API, AISC, ACI, ASCE specs.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma, with an Engineering Degree in any field preferred
• Education and/ or Experience in Associated Industry Detailing Standards
• Experience with industry-standard computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, TEKLA, ProNest, Navisworks and Revit
• Basic knowledge of industry codes and standards for structural design, such as API, AISC, ACI, and ASCEa plus

• Carry out design, fabrication, and/or installation drawings up to AFC level

• Fabrication yard sequence and layout drawings
• Part drawings
• Assembly drawings
• Piece mark and NDT drawings
• As-built drawings
• CNC data
• Part/check templates to assist fabrication
• Construction drawings
• MTO preparation
• Prepares, issues, and updates material and weight data take-off
• Implement Prefabrication, Erection methods, and DC reports information into shop drawing
• Maintain drawing register on a project-by-project basis which catalogs all drawings and sketches issued
• Ensure the quality of drawings as per drawing guidelines
• Ensure unique drawing numbers are assigned to each drawing issued
• Ensure references to project documents and drawing scales are correct
• Ensure drafting deliverables are issued per client specification, level 2 procedures, and within the agreed schedule and budget
• Issue drawings/sketches only after they have been reviewed and appropriately signed by the authorizing Engineer
• Maintain all the mark-ups drawings and filing project-wise
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Manager or Section Leaders

They work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods and adhere to quality guidelines. The Associate Structural Drafter should have basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process and appropriate licenses/training certifications.
