Job summary

Equatorise is seeking an experienced Associate Project Manager – Energy Transition in Jakarta to lead strategic consulting engagements within our NZST practice. You will oversee end-to-end delivery, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage senior stakeholders, and ensure high-quality client outcomes.

Reporting to NZST leadership, you’ll develop project plans, monitor risks, and mentor junior consultants while contributing to business development and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of consulting or programme management experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in energy transition, renewable energy, or climate initiatives.
• Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects involving governments and partners.
• Experience with donor-funded programmes or international projects is desirable.

Associate Project Manager [NZST] – Energy Transition

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Associate Project Manager – Energy Transition to lead the successful delivery of strategic consulting engagements within our NZST practice.

In this role, you will oversee project implementation from initiation through completion, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage senior stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Working alongside technical specialists, you will serve as the primary driver of project execution and client delivery.

What you’ll be up to in this role

• Manage end-to-end project delivery across consulting engagements related to energy transition, renewable energy, sustainable finance, and climate initiatives.
• Develop project plans, delivery schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consortium partners, subcontractors, and client stakeholders throughout project implementation.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, development partners, private sector clients, and international organisations.
• Monitor project performance, identify delivery risks, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Lead project governance meetings, executive briefings, and client reporting processes.
• Support proposal development, business development initiatives, and client relationship management.
• Lead and mentor consultants and contribute to strengthening project management capabilities within the NZST practice.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Finance, Economics, Sustainable Development, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5 years of consulting, programme management, or advisory experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in energy transition, renewable energy, power systems, sustainable finance, or climate policy.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects involving governments, development partners, and private sector organisations.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and project coordination capabilities.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working on donor-funded programmes, international consulting engagements, or infrastructure and energy projects is highly desirable.
• Have higher education qualifications from reputable universities in the UK, Europe, US, or Indonesia.
