Job summary

PT. Surya Teknologi Batam is seeking an experienced SMT Process Engineering Manager to lead the daily operations of the SMT team, drive performance, and ensure process stability across production.

The role emphasizes Lean and Six Sigma, NPI involvement, IPC-A-610 compliance, RCA/CAPA, and cross‑functional collaboration to achieve high FPY and OEE while delivering reliable mass production.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in Process/Manufacturing, preferably PCBA/EMS.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Excellent planning according to MPS.
• Strong problem-solving and optimization skills.
• PPPR X-Ray certificate is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the SMT process engineering team, including performance evaluation, talent development, and succession planning.
• Design and implement training programs to upskill engineers and technicians.
• Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and control critical SMT parameters such as reflow profile, stencil opening, and printing.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce defects and increase FPY.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI): DFM reviews, oversee trial runs, establish SOPs, and transition from NPI to mass production.
• Equipment & Maintenance Management: Manage SMT equipment portfolio including printers, mounters, reflow ovens, AOI, and SPI.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure processes meet IPC-A-610 and customer requirements.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for quality issues and drive CAPA; host customer audits and follow-up actions.
• Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting: Coordinate production schedules with Manufacturing, Quality, and Materials; track KPIs including FTT.

Job description

• Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and customer-specific requirements.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for quality issues and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Host customer audits and manage follow-up action items.
• Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting: Coordinate production schedules with Manufacturing, Quality, and Materials teams. Track, analyse, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including FTT (First-Time Through).

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in charge of Process / Manufacturing, preferably in PCBA / EMS related industry.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Automation Engineering.
• Strong leadership with good teamwork and communication skills.
• Excellent planning skills according to MPS.
• Excellent process optimization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Having a valid PPPR X-Ray certificate is an advantage.
