The candidate will assist with mood boards, sketches, tech drawings, and material sourcing, while collaborating across production and marketing to deliver market-ready designs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in fashion/ textile design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Basic garment construction knowledge and textile production understanding.
• Strong sketching, drawing and proportion skills.
• Knowledge of colour theory, pattern, and textile design principles.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with CAD or technical design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing fashion and textile design concepts, mood boards, sketches, and colour palettes.

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Designer to join the creative team at PT Royal Adibusana. This is a full-time position based in Central Jakarta, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your design skills in the fast-paced fashion and textile design industry. As an Assistant Designer, you will support the senior design team in creating innovative and commercially viable fashion and textile collections. This role is integral to our creative process, allowing you to contribute to the conceptualisation, development, and execution of designs that resonate with our target market.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development of fashion and textile design concepts, including mood boards, sketches, and colour palettes
• Support the creation of detailed technical drawings and specifications for garments and textile products
• Research current fashion trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences to inform design decisions
• Collaborate with pattern makers and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet quality standards
• Participate in design presentations and provide constructive feedback on design iterations
• Support the selection and sourcing of fabrics, trims, and other materials for collections
• Assist in the organisation and preparation of design materials for sales and marketing teams

What we’re looking for

• Qualification in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field (Diploma or Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Strong proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar applications
• Basic knowledge of garment construction and textile production processes
• Excellent sketching and drawing abilities, with a keen eye for detail and proportion
• Understanding of colour theory, pattern, and textile design principles
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a creative team
• Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Passion for fashion and textiles, with awareness of current design trends and industry developments
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Experience using CAD or technical design software is advantageous
• Previous internship or entry-level experience in a design environment is preferred
