Job summary

Sea Labs Indonesia, part of Sea’s tech initiatives around Shopee, is seeking an experienced Release Operations Engineer. You will own multi-platform release workflows across Android and iOS, coordinating with regional teams and platform partners to ensure smooth submissions and compliant updates.

You’ll design automated tools and apply AI agents to triage, summarize, and generate reports while safeguarding data security and release quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or IT-related fields.
• Good logical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and regions.
• Strong analytical skills: understands complex issues, identifies root causes, and makes data-driven decisions.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools and LLM-based coding assistants in daily work, with a track record of building or shipping AI-assisted automation.
• Good judgment on AI output: able to verify results, handle hallucinations, and protect data security and access boundaries.
• Process-driven mindset, with attention to release quality and risk control.
• Software development experience in the mobile field (Android, iOS or React Native), or familiarity with the app release and submission process, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-platform release operations across regions and apps (Shopee, Seller, Lite, etc.): release scheduling, regression and late-merge management, hotfix/ad-hoc releases, and greyscale rollout monitoring.
• Manage third-party platform submissions and compliance (Apple App Store, Google Play, Firebase, Maven, Facebook, OEM partners). Perform impact analysis on policy changes, rejections, alerts and SDK updates from external platforms and partners.
• Manage platform access and security, including access requests via the help desk, periodic access reviews, and revocation for departing employees.
• Design, develop and maintain automated operation and reporting tools (e.g. alert triage, weekly reports, access checks, release notifications, bots and scripts). Apply LLMs and AI agents to automate triage, summarization, root-cause hints and report generation, and continuously evaluate and improve their accuracy.
• Optimize the efficiency of processes across Android, iOS and multiple tech stacks. Identify repetitive manual work and replace it with AI-assisted workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to handle operational and technical queries. Maintain SOPs, runbooks and the knowledge base. Build AI-assisted knowledge search and Q&A so teams can self-serve.
