Job summary

Firmus Technologies Pty Ltd. is seeking a Technical Lead for AI Cluster Commissioning to guide the technical aspects of commissioning world-class AI compute platforms. You will oversee testing, benchmarking, and handover to operations, coordinating with data center teams, partners, and vendors to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires hands-on Linux expertise, GPU diagnostics, and experience with large-scale HPC/AI infrastructure. Travel for on-site deployments is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HPC/AI/hyperscale infrastructure environments, including deployment, commissioning, monitoring and diagnostics.
• Experience with large-scale cluster infrastructure including compute, networking, storage, and supporting management systems.
• Strong Linux and server fundamentals; can debug on hardware and reason across GPU, CPU, memory, PCIe, power and cooling; automation in bash or Python.
• Willingness to undertake international and/or domestic travel for on-site deployments and commissioning.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end commissioning of AI compute clusters, from power-on to handover to operations.
• Coordinate work across data center infrastructure teams, internal teams, partners and vendors.
• Provide technical leadership, set priorities and drive decisions during critical incidents.
• Triage, track, diagnose and resolve issues during the commissioning process.
• Maintain tools, trackers and documentation; ensure repeatable processes and improvements.
• Partner with vendors and escalate challenges to keep the project on schedule and deliver on time.
• Measure success by safe, on-time completion, cluster performance targets, and smooth production handover.
