Job summary

Symrise Asia Pacific Pte Ltd in Jakarta is seeking an experienced Accountant to cover the Indonesia market. You will be part of the Indonesia Finance team and handle Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable reporting, fixed assets and inventory activities while reporting to the Finance Manager, Indonesia.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Accountancy (CA preferred), 5–8 years in accounting, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Accountancy, CA preferred.
• 5-8 years of relevant working experience.
• Strong analytical skills and agility to pick up new tools; BI tools experience (MicroStrategy).
• Experience with SAP is required.
• Fluent in Bahasa and English with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle Accounts Payable, including vendor invoices and tax compliance.
• Manage Accounts Receivable reporting and working with AR dashboards.
• Prepare and maintain Fixed Assets register; run depreciation and asset reports.
• Oversee Inventory processes, stock-takes and valuation.
• Support month-end closing, intercompany reconciliation and sales/gross margin analysis.
• Assist during audits and provide required documentation.

Job description

As the local Accountant responsible to cover Indonesia market, you will be a trusted member of the Indonesia Finance team mainly responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable Reporting, Fixed Assets and Inventory activities with this position reporting to the Finance Manager, Indonesia.

The Position:

This Accountant role has the following focus areas:

Accounts Payable:

Process vendor invoices and employee claims, ensuring accuracy, tax compliance and correct entry in the accounting system

Respond to vendor queries and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders

Collect Tax Invoices for VAT report documentation

Upload tax payments to bank

Set-up and maintain vendor master, ensuring complete documentation.

Accounts Receivable:

Set-up and maintain customer master

Prepare DSO Dashboard and AR Report

Follow-up overdue AR, handle customers’ queries on AR and resolve outstanding AR issues/ Invoices.

Inventory & Fixed Assets:

Review Price Variance analysis and determining items for updating of standard cost

Create Asset register, run monthly depreciation and Fixed assets report

Manage Inventory stock-take and Fixed assets physical checking and tagging.

Month End Closing & Reporting:

Month-end closing activities including AP and AR reporting, accruals, intercompany accounts reconciliation and Sales & Gross margin analysis

Support on audit requests and provide required documentation

Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate:

Degree holder in Accountancy, CA preferred

Min 5-8 years of relevant working experience

Strong analytical skills and agility to pick up new tools, with analytical experience working with BI Tools such as MicroStrategy, detail-oriented

Experience with SAP required

Team player with good communication skills and working attitude

Fast learner, ability to deliver under fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Proficient in the local languages of Bahasa and English too.
