Job summary

Raffles Bali is seeking an Accountant to ensure accurate record-keeping, compliance with financial regulations, and initiate creditors’ payments in line with hotel policies. You will reconcile revenue across departments, verify invoices, and maintain strong internal controls.

The ideal candidate holds a diploma or degree in accounting/finance with 2–3 years’ hotel accounting experience and strong Excel skills. Experience with Opera PMS is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Luxury hotel/resort experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliation, and internal controls.
• USALI knowledge is preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems; Opera PMS is an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Enter and verify transaction data in the accounting system.
• Process and monitor supplier payments.
• Reconcile revenue from hotel departments with invoices and reports.
• Ensure revenue postings are accurate and correctly coded.
• Provide improvements to recording and reporting processes.
• Receive and review supplier invoices for accuracy.

• Organize and store payment documents.
• Reconcile balance sheets and ensure debt balances are correct.

Job Purpose

Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance with financial regulations, and initiate creditors’ payment in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities

• Entering transaction data into an accounting system or program and ensuring everything matches the supporting documents.
• Process and monitor all transactions, including payments supplier.

Technical Responsibilities

• Check and validate all revenue transactions from all hotel departments, such as Front Office, Food and Beverage, and others.
• Compare data in the hotel management system with physical evidence such as invoices, receipts, and sales reports from each department to find discrepancies.
• Ensure all revenue postings, such as room charges, miscellaneous charges, and discounts, are done correctly and according to the correct revenue code.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in recording and reporting processes to reduce errors and increase efficiency.
• Receive and review invoices from suppliers, ensure accuracy of information, and verify conformity with goods or services received by the company.
• Record all purchase and expense transactions in detail and accurately.
• Organize and store all payment documents as proof of transactions.
• Reconcile balance sheet reports and ensure the debt balances are correct.
• Ensure the company's cash is at a normal amount to make payments.
• Communicate and coordinate with other departments as well as with suppliers

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Experience in a luxury hotel/resort is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliation, and internal controls.
• Knowledge of USALI is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems; experience with Opera PMS is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
